Challenges

How do you handle the challenges of your life? Do you cringe at the thought of challenges, or do you take them on with faith?

We tend to avoid dealing with the challenges of our lives, because they require struggle and change. What we don’t realize, is that in the process of the struggle, we can grow in our character.

In Romans 5:3-4 in the (Amplified translation), Paul talks about troubles, sufferings, pressure, afflictions and hardship producing patient and unswerving endurance and that endurance (fortitude) produces maturity of character, approved faith and tried integrity.

When we go through trying times in our lives, if we embrace the challenges with faith in God and his power, we can produce endurance or internal fortitude. When we have this inner strength, we have a tendency of being resilient. God wants us to be resilient in life. He wants us to be able to bounce back from the obstacles in our lives.

Our faith is strengthened when it is tested. We can either allow the pressures of life to hinder us and cause us to freak out, or we can operate in faith and through that produce internal fortitude, tried integrity, endurance and proven character. What will be your choice?
