Joy

God wants you to have joy in your life. We know this, because joy is a fruit of the Spirit of God. Galatians 5:22 To have joy, is a state of mind that can be developed.

What is joy? The biblical Greek definition for joy is delight, cheerfulness that is calm, and gladness. How can we get joy in our lives?

One way to activate the joy of the Lord, is to practice rejoicing over God himself and his goodness. Psalm 100 gives a person several key actions that they can take to create an atmosphere of joy. 1. Make a joyful noise to the Lord. 2. Serve the Lord with gladness. 3. Enter his gates with thanksgiving. 4. Enter his courts with praise.

These are actions that we can take to establish his joy in our lives. Praise and worship are an excellent way of creating a heart of joy. You are delighting in the Lord and in his ways. You are creating an attitude of gratitude toward him and that produces joy in the heart.

Jesus wants us to have joy. John 15:11 He stated that he spoke to his disciples in order that his joy might remain in them and that their joy might be made full.

Joy is not based on your circumstances. In James 1:2-4 James instructed the believers to count it all joy, when they fell into different tests and trials. They were to have joy amid their trials.
